Understanding the percentage of laurel to make the right choice
Aleppo soap is a balanced blend of olive oil and laurel berry oil. The percentage indicated on the soap corresponds to the proportion of laurel: the higher the percentage, the more the soap is suited to problem skin or skin prone to imbalances.
A soap rich in olive oil is very gentle on the skin, ideal for everyday use. Conversely, Aleppo soap with a high percentage of laurel oil is particularly suitable for people suffering from skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis. The high laurel content helps relieve these conditions thanks to its decongestant, anti-inflammatory, and purifying properties.
Olive oil, present in all Aleppo soaps, provides softness, hydration, and cleansing properties. Laurel berry oil, on the other hand, purifies and protects the skin, making it the key ingredient in determining the type of soap best suited to your needs.
Choosing your Aleppo soap according to your skin type
Peau sensible ou sèche
For sensitive, dry, or reactive skin, choose an Aleppo soap with a low concentration of laurel berry oil (1 to 5%).
The high proportion of olive oil provides softness, hydration, and comfort, making it an ideal choice for daily use and for the whole family, including children.
Peau normale
Normal skin will appreciate soaps containing between 10 and 15% laurel berry oil.
They offer a good balance between gentleness and purifying action, while respecting the skin’s daily needs.

Aleppo soaps with a higher concentration of laurel berry oil, between 25 and 35%, are particularly well-suited to problem skin.

For oily, highly reactive skin, or in cases of persistent skin problems, Aleppo soap with 40% laurel berry oil offers targeted and intensive action.
It can also be used as a shampoo to help treat stubborn dandruff.
Seasonal tip: In winter, skin is often more fragile and prone to irritation. Opting for an Aleppo soap richer in laurel (25 to 40%) can help soothe and protect the skin. You can alternate with a milder soap depending on the area of the body.
