Clay stone has become a household cleaning essential. Natural, economical, and versatile, it effectively cleans a multitude of surfaces while reducing the number of products used at home. Discover why it quickly finds its place in everyday life.
What is clay stone?
Clay stone, also called silver stone or white stone, is a multi-purpose natural cleaner. It is composed of naturally derived ingredients, such as white clay (kaolin) and vegetable soap. It is a very versatile product that allows you to reduce the number of household cleaning products you need. It’s a return to something simpler and more effective.
What makes clay stone an essential household cleaner?
- For the vast majority of heavily soiled surfaces that need degreasing, such as cooktops (ceramic, induction, or conventional gas), sinks and faucets, ovens, and heavily soiled dishes (like burnt-on pans).
- For the bathroom, it’s ideal for removing limescale and tartar stains and leaving surfaces sparkling (bathtub, grout, tiles, sink, and faucets).
Its cleaning power is particularly appreciated for maintaining toilet seats and lids.
It’s also great for reviving white plastic garden furniture, removing stains from doors and walls, and cleaning the soles of white shoes. - It can be used to clean many other surfaces, such as windows and mirrors, and tarnished metals (silver, stainless steel, copper, etc.).
How to use the clay stone?
- Simply wet a sponge (we recommend our double-sided microfiber pebble for optimal and easier use) and rub it on the clay stone (medium side).
- Clean the surface.
- Rinse or wipe with a clean cloth or the soft side of the pebble.
Our tip: On mirrors and windows, we recommend using small circular motions without rubbing too vigorously to avoid creating micro-scratches.
On which surfaces should you avoid using clay stone?
Clay stone is a natural cleaner known for its gentleness. However, because it contains clay, it has a slight abrasive power that could scratch, dull, or damage certain materials. It is therefore best to avoid using it on:
- Raw or untreated wood
- Matte painted surfaces
- High-gloss or scratch-prone plastics
- Particularly fragile or delicate surfaces
- Screens (televisions, phones, tablets, computers, etc.)
- Textiles
Our tip: If in doubt, always test on a small, inconspicuous area before cleaning the entire surface.
Economical, effective, and versatile, clay stone deserves a place in every home. Whether for degreasing, stain removal, or polishing, it effectively replaces several household products and simplifies daily cleaning. A natural solution to discover or rediscover!
