How to make your own laundry detergent with wood shavings?
Hand washingDissolve 30g of wood shavings in 1 liter of very hot water. Shake well, then add another liter of hot water. For woolens, use cold water.
Machine Washing• Put a small handful or 30g of flakes at the bottom of your laundry detergent container. • Pour very hot water over the flakes to melt them (start with 1/2 liter). • Shake well. • Pour another 1/2 liter of very hot water to reach 1 liter of detergent. • Shake well. • Your laundry detergent is ready!
Don’t forget to shake the container vigorously before each use to thoroughly mix the soap.**Practical TipsAdd a glass of white vinegar to the fabric softener compartment (it softens and descales). To scent your laundry, add a few drops of essential oils (lavender, tea tree, citrus, etc.). For perfectly white laundry, add a tablespoon of baking soda or a small handful of washing soda crystals.
