Mandarin is a citrus fruit picked from a mandarin tree. It is native to the Far East and has been cultivated there for over three thousand years. His name was attributed to him because of his skin, which recalls the color of the robes of senior Mandarin officials. It was via La Provence that the Mandarin made its entry into France around the beginning of the 19th century.
