A combination of sodium bicarbonate and sodium carbonate (soda ash), sesquicarbonate is a multi-use, economical and effective household product. It combines the abrasive power of bicarbonate and the degreasing power of soda crystals. It is also widely used as a water softener in areas with hard water. Added to laundry, it increases the effectiveness of detergent or soap. It is a substitute for borax, a product banned for its dangerousness. Other applications of sesquicarbonate are possible for cleaning copper, for delicate linen, the dishwasher, the swimming pool or even the feeling of well-being in the bath.
