Vetiver is a grass plant native to India. It was already used in ancient times to deodorize laundry. Today, it is the root that is used, after distillation, in perfumery. The resinous essence obtained releases aromatic, green, slightly woody odors. Depending on the origin of the root (cultivated in Haiti, Bourbon or on the island of Java), the olfactory result will be more or less smoky.
